CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting
The CIMA certificate in business accounting is CIMA's own entry route to the CIMA professional qualification. You may be exempt from some or all certificate papers if you have a relevant degree or have studied another professional accounting qualification.
The Certificate in Business Accounting comprises five modules:
C01 - Fundamentals of Management Accounting
C02 - Fundamentals of Financial Accounting
C03 - Fundamentals of Business Mathematics
C04 - Fundamentals of Business Economics
C05 - Fundamentals of Ethics, Corporate Governance and Business Law
You can sit the five certificate subjects in any order and in any combination to suit your requirements. They are two hour computer based exams which can be sat all year round in our CIMA Ireland office on Harcourt Road, Dublin
CIMA Professional Qualification
The CIMA Professional Qualification syllabus is regularly updated in line with the challenges and opportunities presented by a constantly evolving marketplace and the changing needs of business. It is built on three specific learning pillars: Enterprise pillar, Performance pillar and Financial pillar with each containing three
There are four distinct levels within the CIMA Professional Qualification: operational, management, strategic and professional competence. Each level is progressive and will deliver skills relative to that level. It also provides stopping-off points as required by the individual or their organisation.
Masters gateway entry route to CIMA
CIMA recognises MBA or Master's in accounting holders as future business leaders, and have developed an accelerated route into the CIMA professional qualification.
As an MBA or a Master's in accounting holder, you are eligible to take up the gateway assessment. On successful completion of the exam, you will be granted 11 exemptions from the CIMA professional qualification and will be awarded the CIMA advanced diploma in management accounting. You will then be able to enter the strategic level papers P3, E3 and F3.
CIMA Diploma in Islamic Finance (CDIF)
If you want to be well placed to play a role in an important area of growth and opportunity for Ireland, then this specialist diploma in Islamic finance is for you.
Given the objective to position Ireland as a European hub for the delivery of wholesale Islamic finance services, the CDIF is particularly suitable for executives working in, interacting with or providing professional services to the financial services industry in Ireland. This applies in particular to accountants, bankers, corporate treasurers, fund managers, policy makers, public servants, regulators and solicitors.
The CIMA diploma in Islamic finance is comprised of four individual certificates
Certificate in Islamic commercial law
Certificate in Islamic banking and takaful
Certificate in Islamic capital markets and instruments
Certificate in accounting for Islamic financial institutions
MSc in Strategic Management Accounting
The MSc in Strategic Management Accounting provides students with a systematic and rigorous postgraduate specialisation in management accounting within the context of strategic management. This programme is fully accredited by CIMA and offers successful graduates full exemption from all CIMA exams except the Institute's final Test of Professional Competence (T4).
